ABOUT AMERICAN
TOURING SPECIALTIES
Thanks for your interest in American Touring Specialties. We
are passionate about our vehicles and their performance, and
we inject that passion into every part we make, and car we
build. Founded by Tyler Beauregard, the company’s initial
focus was aiding enthusiasts with installation parts to bolt
in late model T-56 six speed transmissions into first
generation Camaros and Firebirds. After creating and selling
the industry’s first bolt in T-56 crossmember, ATS went on
to expand its T-56 product line, knowledge base, and
quality. The addition of Shane Wagner into the family
allowed American Touring Specialties to evolve into a
premiere manufacturer, leading the way for the most advanced
bolt on parts in the aftermarket. Today, we are dedicated to
providing bolt-in solutions for adapting late model
technology into early model muscle cars. By concentrating on
the voids in the market, ATS brings innovative engineering
to the issues that have plagued classic cars since their
inception.
Shane Wagner attended North Dakota State University where he
earned his mechanical engineering degree. During his
enrollment Shane drove and built up his 1970 Chevelle at the
ripe old age of 19. Being a car nut himself, he felt the
corporate noose tighten as he worked uninspiring jobs for
Daimler Chrysler in Detroit. He found his true calling
working as an Engineer for an aftermarket parts
manufacturer. While employed there, Shane learned great
discipline, and with it moved out to Las Vegas to design
parts made to his uncompromising standards, and true to the
founder’s vision.
Most people have always dreamed of a car that defines them
as a person. For Tyler Beauregard, that vehicle has always
been a 1968 Camaro. He purchased his at 17, and learned how
to make the car different, expressive and innovative all at
the same time. He purchased his at 17, and learned how to
make the car more reliable, more fun to drive, and better
looking. Tyler began his transformation as the visionary
behind American Touring Specialties during his schooling at
Wyoming Technical Institute where he graduated with a degree
in Automotive Technology and Management. While attending, he
built his Camaro into a corner-carving-highway-burning
machine using an LT1 engine from a late model Corvette, and
backed it up with a T-56 six speed. The vehicle’s
transformation was complete, and ATS was born.
Along the way we have seen, used, or installed most of the
hard core parts made for these cars. When we find room for
improvement we design a new part to fill the void. Likewise,
if we find a great product we begin to sell it as dealers.
Every part goes through extensive design, engineering, and
failure testing before going into production. Most of the
prototype parts we make get tested and raced on our company
‘skunk-works’ 1967 Camaro. We use every modern design and
testing program to make sure our parts are of the highest
quality, and fit exactly like they should, every time.
